Instagram IGTV: Visuals Made Simple

Instagram has done it again. Their newest launch is IGTV, a place where users can post and watch videos from their followers. This new tool is a great way to further your advertising reach. IGTV allows for longer videos, with regular users able to post videos up to 10 minutes and verified users able to post up to 1-hour videos.

IGTV is also much more accessible. They only allow vertical videos, making it easy for everyone to create and post videos, regardless of professionality. This helps you reach your audience on a more informal level.

Short and Sweet

While you can post longer videos, that doesn't mean you should. Most users lose interest after about 3 minutes. It's best to keep videos between 1 to 3 minutes long. This will also help you focus your content and make sure that you aren't taking users down a rabbit hole.

Content is everything

With anything that you post, the content of IGTV needs to be relevant to your audience and your business. It also could be something on trend, keeping you up to date with what your audience is engaged with. Content that is relevant to your audience will keep them watching.

What kind of video?

Every video is going to be different, depending on your industry. You might do a tutorial, showing and explaining to your audience how they navigate your business or service. It could be a behind-the-scenes look, giving your audience a glimpse into a part of your business they haven't seen before.

IGTV is the latest way to reach your audience through social media. It is a great way to get more connected with your audience and provides you with a different form of advertising.
