Podcasts: Speaking To A Diverse Audience

Podcasts are a growing form of media used by audiences across the nation. They are what is called a netcast, where hosts talk about different topics and post them online. Podcasts are typically made in a series, where they release new installments each week or monthly. They also offer a great new way to market your business or product.

Why are they important?

Podcasts are becoming extremely important in terms of reaching your audience. Marketing Land states that podcasts are gaining 62 million listeners weekly. This means that some of your target audience is more than likely tuning into a podcast often. Podcasts also offer an excellent demographic variety. Most listeners are between the ages of 12 and 39, with 36 percent being male and 29 percent being female listeners. This is a great place to reach a wide array of your target audience.

Podcast Marketing

Podcasts offer advertising opportunities for your business. Each podcast has typically two to three sponsors, where they break their regular podcast and do an advertisement. These advertisements can be from 15 to 45 seconds long and are read by the host to keep the flow of the podcast. These ads are a great way to market your business because you get to write the script, meaning that the content is exactly what you want to be said about your business.

Podcasts are a new and exciting way to market your business. They are fast growing and still gaining listeners. If you want to reach a diverse audience, try podcast advertising!
